Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

OMH clinics are committed to treating co-occurring substance use disorders (SUDs) in the population we serve. For certain SUDs, addiction medications can be very helpful. This approach to treatment is called medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Currently, OMH offers MAT for problematic alcohol, opioid, and tobacco use that co-occurs with mental illness.

Grant Funds Available for Projects to Combat StigmaLeaving OMH site

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is making available funding for projects to promote stigma reduction. These funds are from the revenues received through the voluntary tax check off program. This program, approved by the legislature in 2016, allows tax payers, on their NYS tax filing, to designate a contribution to the fund to promote the reduction of stigma towards persons with mental illness.
