Office of Mental Health

Farmers Supporting Farmers

The Office of Mental Health offers mental health interventions tailored to meet the needs of specific populations. This includes rural communities in New York State.

The agricultural industry is essential to the economic health of our rural communities, which span 44 of 62 NYS counties. But farmers and agribusinesses continue to feel the effects of coronavirus pandemic; from cash flow issues to rising labor. This can lead to an increased risk for poor behavioral health outcomes and a growing need for suicide prevention in rural counties.

OMH is announcing the availability of funding for a program serving the NYS agricultural workforce over a five-year period.
