Governor Hochul's Fiscal Year 2024 Executive Budget includes a comprehensive $1 billion multi-year plan to transform the continuum of mental health care and drastically reduce the number of individuals with unmet mental health needs throughout the State.

2023 OMH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FEEDBACK SESSIONS

To guide planning and implementation of the Governor’s historic expansion in mental health services, OMH conducted Community Engagement Feedback Sessions throughout the state. Over 1,700 New Yorkers joined us for thoughtful discussions about challenges with our current systems and what our goals are for future success. The themes identified from these sessions, as well as an executive summary are now available:

NEW YORK'S COMMITMENT TO MENTAL HEALTH

Governor Hochul first outlined this multi-year plan during her 2023 State of the State Address. Her plan aims to dramatically expand access to mental health care, reduce wait times, and ensure appropriate levels of care to correct our mental health care system, which has suffered from chronic underinvestment.
