Behavioral Health Managed Care Implementation Timeline
NYS is moving Medicaid behavioral health services into Managed Care. Behavioral Health Managed Care will integrate all behavioral health (BH) and physical heath (PH) services under the management of Mainstream Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and Health and Recovery Plans (HARP).
The timeline for implementation of the Adult and Children’s Behavioral Health Medicaid Managed Care transition has been updated as follows:
Adult Behavioral Health Managed Care Timeline

October 2015 | Behavioral health services managed by Mainstream Managed Care Organizations in NYC. |
October 2015 to January 2016 | Enrollment begins for individuals eligible to join a Health and Recovery Plan (HARP) in NYC. |
January 1, 2016 | Behavioral Health Home and Community Based Services are made available to individuals who choose to join a HARP. |
